Leading top tier law firm is looking to hire an a Corporate Tax Associate or Senior Associate to join their national team, based in their offices in Edinburgh or Glasgow. 

The firm are interested in speaking with Corporate Tax lawyers in Scotland looking to join an innovative Scottish firm or London based lawyers interested in a move North. 

Role Profile:

  • The firm has a market leading tax practice offering City quality work inside and outside of London.  They regularly work for listed companies, foreign owned companies, public sector bodies, institutional investors and banks in maximising the tax effectiveness of all types of commercial practice.
  • This is a core area of the practice providing tax advice on corporate, property and commercial structures and transactions for both clients and those of the firm's corporate, property and projects groups.  The work includes restructuring and demergers, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, funding transactions, outsourcing and private equity/fund investments. The team often add value by providing integrated tax and share plans advice at the structuring stage of a transaction.  
  • You would be joining a team that will give you the opportunity to work on major tax deals across the country and internationally.  The ideal candidate will have experience in employment and/or property tax, although neither is essential. Some experience in international structuring would also be advantageous. 

 Candidate Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have gained a good range of experience of tax work during their training contract at a City firm or large regional practice.  Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development.  They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach. They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.  
  • You will be comfortable in working both as part of a team on large transactions as well as handling your own matters with support from colleagues. You would be joining a team that will give you the opportunity to work on major tax deals across the country and cross border.
