Managing Associate - Litigation - Hong Kong

I am working with a fantastic UK law firm in Hong Kong who are looking for an experienced Hong Kong qualified Managing Associate with at least five years of post-qualification experience to join their team in Hong Kong.  As a Managing Associate in their Litigation team, you will be expected to: 

•support cases across a broad range of commercial litigation and contentious regulatory issues;

•manage complex Hong Kong litigation cases and clients, working largely unsupervised where appropriate (including Court advocacy);

•deal with and instruct counsel;

•delegate to, supervise and support the development of our junior Associates; 

•contribute to the general upkeep of the group, whether that be to training, precedent, or know-how generally; and 

•display a knowledge or key areas of the law by providing clear, precise, practical advice with minimal supervision.  

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to liaise effectively with other fee earners from within the group, but also liaise and contribute with fee earners from relevant disciplines and jurisdictions as required. You should have proven experience of supervising and developing junior associates and be keen to operate in a challenging, team based environment.

They expect all of their associates, regardless of your level of post qualification experience to support business development activities throughout the business and maintain and build on strong client relationships.

You should ideally be fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin (read and write).
