A broad and challenging Data Protection Officer role also encompassing compliance responsibilities, this is a global role, reporting in to the UK based Head of Legal, you will be the key point of contact for data protection, privacy, regulatory and compliance matters, working alongside the Head of Legal.

This is a global Data Protection Officer role, the company is well established and is a successful technology firm focused on SaaS. The company provides a range of software and services to many global companies, this companies partners with many businesses in Financial Services- head quartered in the US.

Description

This Data Protection Officer role involves:

  • Advise the company group and its employees of their obligations pursuant to global data protection and privacy legislation, including the UK, EU & US
  • Monitor compliance with data protection and privacy legislation and the company group's related policies in an environment dealing with significant amounts of personal data.
  • Provide advice where requested regarding data protection impact assessments, and monitor their performance pursuant to relevant legislation.
  • Act as the contact point for, the supervisory authorities where necessary.
  • Review current practices and technology to develop a risk management framework and work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure the right technology is developed and deployed
  • Advise teams across the business to meet their obligations to protect personal data in line with legislation, providing training and guidance as required.
  • Handle internal and external queries as necessary in relation to data protection investigations and practices, withdrawal of consent, right to be forgotten and other data subject rights.
  • Report risks and data breaches to senior management as required, and where appropriate to the supervisory authority.
  • Ensure business assets containing personal data are identified, managed and are subject to suitable controls.

Profile

This Data Protection and Chief Compliance Officer role is based in London and requires:

-Experience in a compliance role

-Data Protection experience

-Must have experience with SaaS

-Experience in a similar role and an understanding of the Data Protection risks faced by large data-driven organisations.

-Expert knowledge of global and national data protection laws and practices, as well as the European General Data Protection Regulation

-Ability to fulfil the tasks of a Data Protection Officer as referred to in Article 39 of the GDPR

-Good knowledge of SaaS and enterprise software.

-Experience conducting data privacy compliance reviews/audits.-Leadership and project management experience.

-Ability to provide clear advice and direction
