Your new role
The firm advises and acts for a variety of large household property names, investment landlords and developers, pension funds, house builders and construction companies. Lawyers in this team provide a wide range of general and specialised commercial property advice which requires good knowledge of investment sales/purchases, landlord and tenant work, options, pre-emptions and overage agreements, development agreements and leases. The work includes property management, general disposals and acquisitions and landlord and tenant work. You may also be requested to assist a partner in more complex transactions such as general development work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will require a minimum 2 degree from a reputable university. The successful candidate will need to have completed a training seat in a property department and have a genuine interest in Commercial Real Estate as you will need to be able to demonstrate commitment to property or real estate as a legal specialism. You will need to be able to advocate and present orally when required, conduct effective case and transaction management, develop strong client relationships, communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with colleagues and clients, draft legal documents, advice notes and give legal advice that is clear and concise, interview and advise clients, helping them decide the best course of action, identify the relevant legal issues applicable to a case or a transaction, conduct negotiations where appropriate and research relevant areas of law. Knowledge of commercial property and the conveyancing process is essential, particularly as applied to acquisitions, disposals and leases of commercial land and buildings.
What you'll get in return
The firm offers a vibrant and supportive working environment built upon its core values; they are progressive, forward thinking, pragmatic and sensible. They pride themselves on high quality client instructions, are committed to investing in the learning and development of their lawyers and support staff at all levels, and encourage their lawyers to build relationships and take part in business development opportunities.
