In-House Lawyer: Halewood Wines & Spirits

Halewood Wines & Spirits is the largest independent producer and distributor of alcoholic products by volume in the UK. There are currently 8 Halewood sites across the UK with the headquarters based in Huyton near Liverpool. Opened in 1978, Huyton is a 30 acre site with 6 main bottling lines capable of producing 28 million cases per annum. In addition to the UK, the company has a fast growing international business and its products are present in over 100 countries around the world. Halewood now seek an in-house lawyer confident enough to take on a Sole Counsel position and work closely with senior Board members.

The role will be hugely varied. The Sole Counsel will be involved with:
· Drafting and negotiating high profile contacts including sponsorship agreements
· Review of marketing terms and related data protection and privacy matters
· Involvement in new product viability
· Corporate governance
· IP
· Project management
· Employment matters
· Property and planning

The role would be suited to a lawyer with at least 4 years PQE and a proven track record in industry. You should be ready to take on a Sole Counsel position and be excited by the prospect of high levels of commercial involvement. Support is also available from external solicitors as well as long standing members of the commercial team. Sole Counsel roles are relatively rare and very sought after and this opportunity sits within an interesting sector and commercial organisation.
