THE ROLE
A Commercial Technology lawyer is now sought as maternity cover from April to December 2018.
As part of a small but very busy commercial team in London you will also support the international business in relation to technology agreements.
There is a genuine global dimension to the remit as well as substantial autonomy and responsibility.
The environment is fast paced and the customer base very demanding, therefore the role requires a person who can deal with pressure, can commit to deadlines and work at a good pace as well as someone who has extensive contract negotiation experience.
Your work will include:
Varied mixture of technology contracts and work as both a user and supplier including software, development, data usage and distribution, equipment, FCA critical outsourcing (including systems that support regulatory reporting, settlement and other key functions), cloud storage, trading platforms, related intellectual property (IP) and miscellaneous technology.
Advice, assistance and documentation to support the Group's compliance with the GDPR and generally assisting and advising on all aspects of the group's data protection issues mainly in the UK.
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of front and back office agreements including direct market access agreements, introducing brokerage agreements, commission sharing agreements, terms of business, clearing services, confidentiality agreements, service and support contracts, intra group agreements, prime brokerage agreements and bank guarantees.
Drafting online terms and template agreements for new products.
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating data protection clauses in global services agreements that involve personal data collected from the EU.
Providing support and advice on subject access requests.
ABOUT YOU
Ideally with in house financial services experience (although this is not essential) you will have 3-5pqe + in private practice or already be in house in financial services or another relevant industry sector.
You may also be a foreign commonwealth qualified lawyer with the equivalent qualifications.
With a strong academic record, you will be looking to join a lively and busy team and therefore able to deal with competing demands.
You will be covering an existing workload and will quickly build up your own internal clients.
