Equity Derivatives Lawyer

Your new company
My client is a leading global financial services firm and Tier 1 investment bank. The bank is currently expanding across a number of its London based legal teams with a variety of live permanent positions.

Your new role
This role requires an exceptional lawyer to support the equity derivatives business. You will be responsible for in-house indices (all asset classes and transactions), structured OTC derivatives and securitised products. The role is a mix of drafting index rules, transactional support (negotiating and drafting transaction documentation), supporting the business to structure complex deals, advising on regulatory change and stakeholder management across a variety of internal departments. This is a broad role with work that is often bespoke and urgent in nature, so requires a proactive lawyer with a strong understanding of the constituent parts and how it all fits together. You will be working with people that are at the top of their field and extremely passionate about the business. You will need the confidence and gravitas to work effectively with stakeholders but know when escalating a query is appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified lawyer and ideally have a background of working with Derivatives or Capital Markets. Structured notes and Complicated OTC trades experience would be very beneficial. Strong drafting skills as well as a technical and structured outlook would help greatly. This role would suit a lawyer with 3-6 years of post-qualified experience. You will have a background of working within an in-house financial services environment or a similar position within Private Practice and a relevant discipline.
