A globally leading investment bank are looking to hire a Data Protection Lawyer for a six-month contract, based in London.
About the role
Working closely with the IT, Legal and Compliance teams, the Data Protection Lawyer will be responsible for ensuring that the bank's activities comply with the required data protection regulations, including the DPA and GDPR.
Key responsibilities
- Liaising with the bank's data protection specialists to ensure the bank is complying with the applicable data protection laws and relevant codes of practice
- Leading on the implementation of GDPR for the bank's UK activities
- Responding to subject access requests and managing notifications
- Working closely with and presenting to the senior management team in relation to data protection initiatives
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE, gained across data protection within a large financial institution or corporate
- Experience in advising on the implementation of GDPR
- Good understanding of data privacy governance models and controls
