Assistant Company Secretary


New job opportunity within a high-profile Insurance company based in London as Assistant Corporate Secretary. It is a permanent position, paying from £50,000 to £70,000 per annum depending on experience.

The role will be responsible for assisting the Group Company Secretary to ensure the smooth running of the Company Secretariat, guaranteeing a proficient service is provided to the Board, Board Committees and the Executive Committee and ensuring the maintenance of both legal and statutory compliance.

Accountability

  • Ensure any information held on the organisations database is maintained and updated accordingly.
  • Provide support for the regulatory and statutory administration involving the organisation and associated areas is complaint with statutory filings.
  • Act as Secretary when instructed by the Group Company Secretary
  • Provide general assistance when arranging Board Meetings, General meetings and Committee Meetings
  • Ensuring you are updated with developing Company Laws, Corporate Governance and relevant Shareholder Deed requirements
  • Updating and creating an Annual Timetable for all key events involving Company Secretary with regular updating.
  • Establishing a Contracts and Agreements Database and regularly updating the system.
  • Providing assistance for general IP rights registration and correspondence particularly assisting with logo and trade mark registration.

Minimum Experience and Knowledge

  • Degree educated and ICSA qualified
  • Previous experience working in a company secretary team for a complex and high-profile organisation.
  • Can provide evidence of hands on support for technically challenging meetings
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with a high work load and demanding client base and various jurisdictions within the organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal material
  • Experience liaising and building relationships with senior individuals and stakeholders
  • Experience with Blueprint Secretariat Software is ideal but not essential
