BANKING PARALEGAL - MANCHESTER
Banking Paralegal or Legal Executive – Due to two members of staff going on maternity leave, the in-house corporate banking team of this leading international brand is looking for two paralegals or legal executives to serve a 12-month fixed term contract. Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous experience working in either a private practice or in-house capacity and should be familiar with the relevant banking documentation, such as drafting and amending facility letters.
THE ROLE AT A GLANCE
- Job title: Banking Paralegal / Legal Executive / Relationship Manager (in-house)
- Location: Manchester
- Salary: £25,000 - £37,000 + bonus
- Reports to: Team leader
- Previous Experience: As this is a fixed term position, the team manager is prepared to consider a wider spectrum of candidates. Applicants should ideally still have previous experience working for the corporate banking team of a law firm or another bank as knowledge and understanding of banking documentation is still very important. They are also prepared to consider paralegals with commercial property experience.
NATURE OF THE WORK
The in-house corporate banking team works closely with the commercial relationship managers who, in turn, advise a range of clients of the bank on their individual funding and facility needs. The vast majority of the work undertaken by this particular team relates to SME clients with funding arrangements of up to around £10m. Some of the deals are quite bespoke and have to be tailored to the individual needs of the client. Therefore, any applicants should have sufficient understanding of facility letters and banking covenants etc to be able to re-draft and amend them where necessary.
FIXED TERM CONTRACT
Both positions are fixed term contracts designed to last 12 months. There is a possibility that these will evolve into a permanent role, however this will have to be discussed at interview.
Ideally our client wishes any successful applicant to be able to start as soon as possible. These roles would suit anyone looking to return to a banking paralegal or legal executive role after a period away from work. They would also potentially suit a Relationship Manager who has a broader understanding of facility documentation.
