A highly successful downstream oil & gas business based in central London is looking to appoint a Company Secretarial Assistant in newly-created role. The business is a major name in the oil & gas sector in the US but rapidly increasing in visibility in Europe.
Working from the London HQ, you will support the Legal Director with a range of standard company secretarial duties (including board minutes and resolutions, companies house filings, maintenance of statutory books and share certificates etc) as well as assuming more of an unusual project management role on various compliance-centric activities and projects.
You will have a solid background in company secretarial work, and may be working towards or have completed the ICSA exams (although this is not essential if you can demonstrate the requisite experience). You will ideally have gained experience working in the secretariat of a major company, but will perhaps be seeking to broaden your experience in a smaller business in which you will be afforded higher levels of responsibility.
Previous experience of implementing compliance initiatives is viewed favourably but is not essential as you will be closely monitored and supported by the Legal Director on these activities. What is essential is that you are enthusiastic about taking on new challenges, possess a good amount of common sense and initiative and are otherwise comfortable engaging with important stakeholders.
In return for all of this, you will be rewarded with an excellent salary and one of the most generous benefits packages in the market, comprising a sizeable pension contribution, a discretionary annual bonus, medical and dental insurance, access to the share scheme and, best of all, a nine-day working fortnight (essentially allowing you every other Friday off)
