A leading independent provider of package holidays and tours is looking to appoint a qualified lawyer, legal executive or experienced paralegal in the role of Legal Manager.

Established for over 50 years, the company now operates tours to various mediterranean countries (including Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Sardinia and Corsica, Madeira, the Canary Islands and the Balearics) as well as further afield (Cape Verde, Goa and the Gambia).  Delivering excellence in quality, service and value underpins everything that the business does, and these qualities will need to be replicated in the Legal Manager role.

Reporting to the Customer Services & Legal Manager, this will be a relatively autonomous position with responsibility for handling all personal injury claims against the business (eg slips/trips, falls and illnesses), including investigation, gathering of evidence, establishing a position on liability, liaising with insurers, dealing with suppliers and engaging external lawyers.  In addition, you will work closely with the customer services team to identify and remedy potential claims at the earliest possible opportunity, as well as preparing appropriate responses, defences and other related court documents.

There is a high volume of work so the role requires a candidate with good time management and organisational skills, as well as an ability to work efficiently and identify issues quickly.

What is required
This is a role which would suit a qualified solicitor or barrister, legal executive or an experienced paralegal.  You must have substantial experience in high-volume personal injury litigation, either from a law firm or a similar role in-house.  Previous exposure to the travel/leisure industry is viewed favourably but is non-essential, provided you can demonstrate transferable experience.

In exchange, you'll be provided with a competitive salary, healthcare, basic pension and concessions on holidays.
