Job Description

The role will report into the Head of Legal (Commercial), working closely with other solicitors in the team and involves varied commercial legal support to the business, primarily advising on data protection matters and IT projects as well as wider commercial matters including employment law issues, supplier contracts, IP, company law, marketing and advertising regulations and general legal advice.

The Successful Applicant

An applicant should be a qualified solicitor of around 2 - 4 PQE* with excellent academic credentials and ideally with some data protection experience gained with a respected law firm. Some knowledge of general commercial contracts, IT and marketing and advertising experience would be preferred. Prior in-house or secondment experience could be advantageous but is not essential.

The team is looking for someone who is genuine, enthusiastic, pragmatic, open-minded and curious about learning and gaining experience in new legal areas; someone who will enjoy working in a team and with business stakeholders to help find solutions. The applicant will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong drafting skills and the ability to clearly and concisely explain concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
