Legal Counsel, Foreign Exchange Services Firm - 8 month Contract
Our client, a leading foreign exchange services firm is looking for an experienced legal counsel to join them for an 8 month contract.
Responsibilities
- Support in the delivery of legal certainty required under the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures.
- Provide legal analysis of a broad range of commercial contracts, accurate drafting of contractual provisions and appropriate risk mitigation.
- Assist with monitoring of regulatory change with specific focus on EU and UK regulations.
- Draft and contribute to letters and consultations relevant to regulatory and legal change.
- Provide support to all relevant teams, in particular teams engaged with new business initiatives, commercial negotiation and contractual analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Work closely with Regulatory Affairs and Compliance to monitor and manage legislative and regulatory change.
- Ensure that legal risk is managed, including ensuring all new risks are known and analysed.
- Assist with drafting of amendments to the company’s documents to reflect relevant changes or improvements.
Skills and Experience
- Admission as a UK qualified lawyer (solicitor or barrister).
- Experience from a leading law firm and excellent academics required
- Knowledge of financial markets (ideally foreign exchange markets, payment or settlement systems).
