A leading litigation specialist is a recruiting a newly-created Compliance Manager role to be responsible for providing a comprehensive compliance service to the firm, working closely with the COLP, COFA, MLRO and other Partners. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is highly experienced within compliance and is looking for part-time hours, you will need to work 3 days-a-week however these will be flexible including working from home so this position offers a work/life balance second to none. Responsibilities will require you to be the first point of contact for any compliance/regulatory queries within the firm, identify new or amended SRA (and other) regulatory requirements, advise the firm as to the relevant regulatory requirements re conflicts, confidentiality and disclosure, undertakings etc., work closely with the Financial Director/COFA re reporting breaches of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, responsible for updating and maintaining all policies within the firm, including the Staff Handbook, liaise with the SRA/Law Society Ethics Team on regulatory issues as required. Monitor new AML procedures, guidance and best practice (attend AML conferences and seminars as required and provide internal training), amend standard engagement letters and terms of business as required, advise the firm generally re conflicts/conflict checks when determining whether or not to take on new instructions, monitor compliance e.g. COLP-related breaches, COFA-related breaches, complaints, SAR-related audits, assist fully with the annual SAR audit, the maintenance and completion of Breaches Register (COLP and COFA) and reporting to the COLP and SRA as necessary and be able to consider and respond to ad-hoc internal requests for guidance on compliance-related queries re confidentiality, conflicts generally, bespoke terms in engagement letters and AML requirements. Applicants need to extremely knowledgeable within compliance and previously been the main point of contact for compliance within a law firm and been the next point of contact to COLP/COFA. Either coming from a finance, qualified or HR background where you have been responsible for advising, leading and maintaining the firm on all compliance matters.
