Job Description

Role Description:

Forming part of a global legal team the Legal Counsel will be the sole lawyer for the UK Business and will report into the Financial Director of Barloworld Holdings Limited as well as a dotted line into Barloworld Limited, General Counsel based at HQ in South Africa. The role will take sole responsibility for all day to day legal and commercial work that comes across the desk.

Responsibilities will include:

• Advising on, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a diverse range of agreements and documents (including customer contracts and licensing and sub-contractor/supplier agreements).
• Advising on a diverse range of corporate transactional work, including Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Disposals.
• Advising on aspects of corporate and company law and providing Company Secretarial, Corporate Compliance & Governance support for several international entities.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements:

• UK / Internationally qualified solicitor.
• Proven experience in Corporate / Commercial transactional support is essential.
• Company Secretarial / Corporate Compliance experience highly desirable.
• Confident, can do attitude, willing and able to operate in a stand-alone position within a global organisation
