An excellent opportunity has arisen in-house at a top Investment Bank for a Legal Counsel.
The Legal Counsel can look forward to joining the Sales & Trading (Prime Brokerage) Legal team and will advise a market-leading business, including its client clearing (both OTC and Listed Derivatives) business.
The role may also include implementation of the regulatory reform agenda impacting these business units, including: AIFMD (relationships with depositaries, client requirements, compliance with broader AIFMD requirements); UCITS V; MiFID II; Client Asset Rules (revised CASS rulebook); Shadow Banking (including EU Securities Financing Transaction Regulation, and EU Securities Law Legislation); EU CRDIV/CRR (impact on client clearing businesses, and CCP relationships).
The team consists of US, Magic and Silver Circle trained lawyers and they are very open to applications from Lawyers in private practice who are seeking to make the first move in-house to a Legal Counsel role.
Ideal experience will be regulatory and finance law, with a solid grounding in securities and contract law, general up to date knowledge of EU legislation impacting sales and trading, and knowledge of EMIR, AIFMD, CASS, MIFID regulations. However they will consider anyone with relevant banking, finance and regulatory experience.
It is anticipated 3-4 PQE will be the right level for the Legal Counsel role, but again they are open to applications from Lawyers outside of this range.
Please note this is a contracting position on a day rate on an on-going basis and is very likely to become permanent after 6 months.
