Legal Counsel

A major global financial organisation is looking to recruit a lawyer to join their well-established legal team in Birmingham on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with strong academics and previous financial services experience gained from a law firm or in-house legal department.  The role will include drafting and negotiating OTC Clearing documentation including the International Swaps & Derivatives Association (ISDA).

This role is ideally suited to a 1-5 year PQE lawyer; although this is only a guide hence does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.

They will need to be prepared to assume responsibility for their own workload from an early stage, managing priorities and be willing to get involved in a wide variety of challenging and intellectually stimulating projects with demanding internal and external customers.  Candidates must have good technical, presentation and communication skills.

There is plenty of scope for career progression within the legal team for lawyers who are hard working and maintain a high level of accuracy, while working under pressure in a fast paced environment.
