CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION SOLICITOR - MANCHESTER 

Construction Solicitor – A rare opportunity has arisen to join one of the leading construction litigation teams in Manchester. This is a team which gains access to the kind of work one would usually only find in London, due to its strong international element. They are looking to attract a solicitor with 1-3 PQE to work with one of the Partners in the Manchester office. NQ candidates will be considered, though they should have completed a seat in construction litigation.

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE

• Job title: Associate 1-3 PQE
• Location: Manchester
• Salary: £40,000 - £55,000
• Reports to: Head of Construction
• Previous Experience: Construction Solicitor or Associate with proven experience advising on a wide range of litigious construction / engineering matters. Ideally candidates should have a ‘top tier’ or ‘mid tier’ background with a strong CV including excellent academics.

The team advise numerous clients in the public and private sector across an equally varied range of sectors including energy infrastructure and development.

The team boasts a collection of accolades and is highly rated in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. The client base and quality of work is difficult to equal including large national and international client operating in mining, utilities, chemicals and engineering. Many of these are blue chip companies who demand the very highest level of legal advice.

The team is growing and is looking for a solicitor with roughly 1-3 years PQE. Applicants should be academically bright, but also demonstrate strong skills of commercial application. Given the nature of the clients who instruct the team, they are on the hunt for someone who enjoys a real challenge and is looking to build their career with one of the best construction teams in the market.

SKILL SET IN MORE DETAIL

Our client is looking for strong all-rounders, both academically and technically. Applicants should have:

• Proven construction litigation experience from a respected firm (NQs should have completed at least one seat in construction litigation);
• Strong academic background;
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Strong understanding of principles of ‘black letter’ litigation law

As this is a growing team, you will also have an active part in business development which usually takes the form of preparing seminars and developing tools to assist and support the client.
