Reporting directly to the Head of legal of a global asset manager a professional lawyer is now required to provide legal support and coordination associated with the development, structuring, launch and operation of the cross-border mutual fund product ranges (UCITS/AIFs) for Europe’s largest asset manager with over Euro 1 Trillion under management.

 

Opportunity’s Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support in connection with the maintenance and development of product related contractual relationships including investment management, custody, fund administration, transfer agency and distribution
  • Support and advise on the registration and availability of products for sale or investment in overseas markets
  • Work with senior management and internal and external service providers to deliver Our client’s international product offering
  • Negotiate and advise on a large network of third party distribution contracts and support the global marketing effort associated with distribution of mutual funds
  • Where appropriate, play an active role in industry associations and guide the evaluation and implementation of regulatory developments

The person:

  • A qualified lawyer with at least 4/5 years PQE
  • Cooperative and open attitude in contributing to the team effort
  • Experience of mutual funds legal work preferably both in practice and in-house with exposure to both long and alternative fund structuring issues in multiple domiciles; Exposure to legal issues associated with Global distribution of Asset Management Products
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of the legal issues associated with the management and development of collective investment vehicles
  • A flexible approach and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable with IT tools – an appetite to contribute to the further development of our legal IT tools
  • Strong academic background
  • Multi-language skills would be an advantage.
