Legal Counsel – Homeworking considered - APAC

About

McKenzie Douglas are recruiting for an expanding IT company, part of a large US organisation. They are looking to add a Legal Counsel to their team, who will have remit over the APAC region. Ideally, you will have IT sector APAC regional experience.

You will report to the General Counsel, collaborate with other Legal Counsels across the globe and be responsible for supporting the business on commercial, legal and contractual advice, within the IT & software sphere. You can also expect to turn your hand to other areas of law with ad hoc advice on commercial disputes, compliance / regulatory and Intellectual Property.

For the right candidate, homeworking will be considered. There will however, be some degree of travel to their offices – on a quarterly basis. Ideal for candidates who are looking to reduce their commute time / looking for flexibility and the comfort of working from their own home / wanting to move In-House but restricted by your location.

Requirements

  • Qualified Lawyer
  • Would suit 3 – 10 years PQE Solicitor (will consider more experienced candidates)
  • Can be qualified in any APAC jurisdiction
  • Familiar with jurisdictions in the APAC region, preference being China and Singapore
  • IT OR Software sector experience (highly advantageous)
  • Intellectual Property knowledge (beneficial)
  • Proficient in drafting / reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. Must be able to handle negotiations with clients and senior stakeholders, directly. 
  • Comfortable working autonomously
