Legal Counsel – Major Retail Business – Flexible Working
A new and exciting in-house opportunity has arisen with a well-known high street brand. This British household name seeks to employ a Legal Counsel to support the business from its headquarters in the Midlands.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will have a passion for commercial law and will be required to support and influence all levels of senior management through strong relationships and have a healthy respect for the commerciality of the legal advice given. The role is a full time position with the option to work one day per week from home.
Accountabilities
- Provide support to all heads of departments relating to third party commercial relationships: from supplier selection through to set up of arrangement, management during term and closing down of the relationship in order to mitigate the legal business risk
- Providing advice, addressing disputes, supporting negotiations and managing litigation where required
- Provide legal support regarding third party commercial relationships
- Implementing procedure in order to manage risk
- Providing training to other business functions in order to raise awareness of legal issues.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the UK and a qualified Lawyer
- 2-8 years PQE*
- Commercial in-house experience preferable
- Retail experience desirable
