We are working with a FTSE 250 company who are seeking to hire an experienced data privacy lawyer for a Deputy DPO role.   

There will be a broad mix of work, in a role which directly supports the DPO.  You will be providing strategic and regulatory advice to the business on data protection and you will be originating and reviewing policy, implementing risk management and reviewing regulatory change.  You will deputise for the DPO where necessary,in the event of potential data breaches and assist in liaising with the regulatory authorities on any incidents and investigations.  You will also negotiate contracts.

This is a highly commercial role and you will be pro-actively involved in creating processes and policies in the front line of the business.  You will advise, work on projects, give training sessions to the business, create legal know-how and identify and advise on legal and compliance risk. 

The business is very dynamic and at the forefront of the Financial Services market.  The team is expanding to support a growing international business and the work will be varied and interesting. You must have a good understanding and a keen interest in data privacy and both experienced lawyers and more junior data privacy professionals will be considered.

There is plenty of support and training for this role and huge potential to develop in-house experience.  The priority is to hire a bright enthusiastic UK qualified lawyer who is committed to working in-house and excited about the prospect of working in a close-knit team and working closely with the business in a role which will enjoy considerable responsibility and commercial exposure
