CORPORATE COMMERCIAL SOLICITOR / ASSOCIATE – LEEDS

Corporate Commercial Solicitor / Associate Leeds – This leading international firm is looking for a solicitor with a mix of corporate and commercial experience to join their expanding team. The work includes everything from mergers and acquisitions work to joint ventures, commercial contracts and procurement. The team advises public sector as well as private sector clients and the aim in to build a team which offers a complete suite of services.

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE

• Job title: Associate – Corporate and Commercial
• Location: Leeds or Manchester
• Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
• Reports to: Head of Department
• Previous experience: 1-5 PQE – our client is willing to consider solicitors from both a corporate and commercial background. The work involves working with public sector clients so experience of areas such as procurement would also be highly beneficial.

NATURE OF THE WORK

This is a growing team which works closely to serve clients in Leeds and Manchester especially those in the public sector such as clients which operate in the healthcare sector. The main aim is to develop a seamless suite of services covering any corporate and commercial requirements a given client may have.

The team regularly advises on a range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures as well as ongoing on ongoing corporate governance issues, especially since a significant number of clients operate in the public sector. Furthermore, the team also possess considerable specialist commercial expertise in areas such as procurement and outsourcing as well as providing general commercial advise when required.  

IDEAL CANDIDATES AND REQUIRED SKILL SET

Our client is looking for solicitors with a solid background in commercial and / or corporate work with a desire to work on large-scale projects often between significant players in the private and public sector. Many of these deals are ground-breaking departures which are aimed at reshaping how certain sectors, such as healthcare, operate.

In this regard, the work is often dynamic and challenging and the department is looking for gifted lawyers with the talent and ambition to advise on these high-profile initiatives. Technical ability is taken as read. What will make applicants stand out will be their problem-solving qualities and the ability to find solutions to problems whilst operating in a highly regulated area.
