You will ideally have circa 2-6 years PQE, having trained and qualified in a top UK law firm, preferably with some in-house exposure within the oil & gas industry. The role itself will be a broad position, which will include legal issues related to drilling contracts, litigation, securities disclosure and filing issues, commercial contracts, compliance, M&A activity, joint ventures, finance agreements, capital markets issuances, inter-company transactions and yard construction contracts, as well as support to other Group and Corporate functions such as Treasury, Marketing, Tax, Co-Sec, Compliance and the Contracts/Supply Chain teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Commercial team in securing and negotiating drilling contracts
- Drafting and negotiating documentation relating to:
- M&A and joint ventures
- new and existing finance and capital market transactions
- drilling contracts and ancillary services and contracts
- Reporting and disclosure issues under the organisations various filing obligations
- Supporting litigation and dispute resolution matters that are handled at Corporate
- Support the development and implementation of the global Compliance programme covering ABC, sanctions, anti-money laundering
- Assist with Company Secretarial matters
- Provide general legal support to Corporate departments
- Ad hoc support and assistance to other members of the Legal team in Regional offices and the Contracts teams
