Commercial Lawyer

Commercial lawyer with 2 - 6 years PQE sought to join the established team of this household brand at their West Midlands HQ.
Our client is a British company, leader in its field and household name. They have a newly created opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join their established team to advise on a wide variety of commercial legal matters across the business.
You will be responsible for advising on commercial contracts, procurement, supply chain and IT contracts with both customers and suppliers as well as general business related queries as and when they arise. Aside from this, this individual will assist in the management of other areas such as marketing, IP, employment and disputes in a diverse and interesting role. Specifically you will:
- Provide commercial legal advice to the whole of the business, including:
- Advising on procurement, supply chain, and IT contracts
- Advising on customer contracts with commercial customers
- Advising on general business related queries, including customer queries
- Advising on operational and related issues and providing pragmatic advice on ongoing ad-hoc queries
- Assisting in the management of other areas including disputes, employment, approving marketing materials, IP and IT
- Liaising with external advisers as appropriate
- Contributing to the legal support of the business to facilitate implementation of ambitious business plans.
- Contributing to the development of the legal team including working with other team members and including secretarial support staff
- Commerciality and pragmatism is vital to understand the needs of our internal customers
The successful individual will be enjoy working alongside colleagues in a fast paced environment. Ideally, this individual would have between 2- 6 years' PQE and experience of working in the commercial team of a private practice organisation or another established in-house organisation. However, our client is open to considering candidates coming from a non-commercial background and therefore those interested in a move in-house from another discipline are encouraged to apply.
