Legal Counsel

Our client, a leading technology business in the South East is looking to recruit an interim in-house Sole Counsel to join their in-house legal team.

The role will involve drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts alongside dealing with more general commercial matters. You will be working on ad hoc legal projects (Data Privacy, M&A, Corporate Restructuring, Litigation etc). You will assist in the maintenance of company intellectual property and assisting in maintaining company records and policies where required in line with changes. The successful candidate will identify, assess and manage legal risk to minimise the liability of the business whilst ensuring business objectives are achieved. Liaising with external counsel on matters where relevant

It is essential the successful candidate has the following experience and knowledge;

* Sound knowledge and practical experience of contract law
* Sound knowledge of IT/IP law preferably gained within an in house environment.
* Experience in drafting negotiating commercial contracts
* Ability to meet requirements of the business and those of external customers.
* Commitment to develop a deep understanding of business operations and environment
* Experience of working in an in - house environment
* Proactive at developing internal business relationships

Experience working in an IT solutions business preferable but not essential

The role is due to commence at short notice and it is expected to run for a 3 month period.

This is a part time 3 day a week role based in Hampshire.
