Legal Counsel - Funds

Our client, a global tier 1 bank, is looking for someone to join their team working as VP Legal Counsel, focussing on funds. This is a permanent role based in London or Northampton.

The role will be responsible for providing legal support and advice across the organisation regarding funds, working with various members of the Savings and Investments Legal team.

Your work will centre around a range of UCITS and non-UCITS retail schemes across various areas including UK, Luxembourg, Ireland and Jersey.

You will also be responsible for the distribution of retail funds and AIFs managed by third parties. The role will also support the implementation of any regulatory change that will impact the business.

Skills and experience

• Qualified solicitor of 5+ years PQE
• Strong in-house financial services experience or top City law firm background
• Strong knowledge and experience with either UK, Dublin or Luxembourg UCITS funds and experience of AIFMD and alternative investment funds would be ideal
• Understanding and expertise of regulatory law, trust laws and relevant EU and contract law in relation to funds
