I am working with a growing Financial Services organisation, based in the City, who are seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel.
The primary responsibilities for this role will involve a range of commercial matters and will help advise our rapidly developing company on legal issues. This will involve drafting and negotiating contracts and providing advice to support our group structure and new business opportunities. The individual will also assist the company in its preparation for long-term capital planning, including capital calls:
Further responsibilities will include;
- Drafting, negotiating, and amending contracts with customers, partners and suppliers. This will include back-to-back and subcontracting arrangements.
- Developing template legal documents/agreements.
- Advising senior stakeholders on legal matters and ensuring the best interest of the company are put first.
- Advising on GDPR legislation
- Working with the Chief Governance & Legal Officer on the expansion of the company outside of the UK.
The ideal candidate for this role will be/have;
- A qualified solicitor holding a practising certificate with experience in corporate private practice and/or an in-house team.
- 3 to 4 years' experience in drafting and negotiating agreements with customers, partners and suppliers, including, subcontracting arrangements and intragroup agreements.
- Developed understanding of corporate/commercial issues, including corporate governance issues.
- Advanced understanding of key contractual principles (e. contract formation, indemnities, consequential loss).
