Description
This Data Subject Rights Manager- Data Privacy role is based in Luton and involves:
Reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer, the Data Subject Request Manager (DSRM) is responsible for making sure that the company respects the data subject rights our customers and colleagues. GDPR gives people specific rights over data relating to them and responding to any rights requests is an integral part of our commitment to our customers and colleagues.
The DSRM is responsible for the management of an internal team of paralegals and an external multi-lingual rights team based in Europe. We have one month to respond to a request whether that's something simple like sending a copy of someone's data to them or a more complex request.
In addition to managing the team and the workflow through the team the DSRM will be a subject matter expert on the data subject rights within GDPR. They will provide advice and assistance to the team and to other departments, particularly HR and operations. They will be able to explain all rights especially what information has to be disclosed and how to balance that with the fundamental rights and freedoms of other people in the company.
The role is also responsible for determining right-related policy in conjunction with the DPO.
- Overall case and workflow management
- Monitoring deadlines and communication with data subjects
- Line management of internal team of paralegals
- Management, training and support of external rights team in Lisbon
- Liaison with national regulators in response to rights-based complaints
- Instruction of and liaison with external solicitors as required
- Working with other departments to co-ordinate responses to rights requests
- Maintaining case management system
- Advising colleagues about data rights
- Redaction of documents to protect the rights and freedoms of third parties
- Using tools to find data subject's personal information with systems
Profile
This Data Subject Rights Manager- Data Privacy role is based in Luton and involves:
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- High attention to detail
- Line management
- Knowledge of Data Subject rights within GDPR - previous legal training an advantage
- Pragmatic, can-do attitude tempered by an understanding of regulatory and reputational risk
- Ability to remain focused in a busy office environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be extremely organised and the ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft, outlook, excel and PDF
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Previous administration experience
- Ability to speak additional European languages is desirable though not essential
