Legal Counsel IP, Technology and Procurement - Procurement Legal Counsel
Our client is in search of a Legal Counsel within their IP, Technology and Procurement team. The institution is a highly-established organisation with their Headquarters based in London.
This role will be responsible for supporting the bank with various issues involving intellectual property, technology, data protection and reviewing and implementing the outsourcing and offshoring in support of the global Procurement Function. The role will focus on providing specialist advices on outsourcing, data transfers, banking secrecy issues, regulatory issues and some intellectual property and technology issues.
Accountability
- Providing advice for all intra-group outsourcing that includes data protection, banking secrecy and confidentiality
- Project manage any legal opinions from local counsel and collaborate with them to ensure the project is correctly understood and reviewed whilst also providing advise for the legal structure of the project.
- Advising on Service Level Agreement for every project and develop templates, guides and policies for intra-group outsourcing.
Minimum Experience and Knowledge
- A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualified experience, within a private practice and in house
- Experience of working in a major international jurisdiction, particularly within an international law firm or investment bank.
- Experience in a Technology / IP / Procurement / Outsourcing team with solid knowledge of data transfers, outsourcing (including SYSC 8) and be familiar with banking products and in particular financial derivatives and cash products.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and various jurisdictions within the bank.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal and regulatory material with limited admin support.
