JDI Legal are currently working with a law firm in Newcastle who are recruiting across two departments at Paralegal level. One focusing on contentious and litigation matters, specifically debt recovery AND the other volume property transactions, acting on behalf of large corporate clients.
The ideal candidate/s for these posts will have strong academics including Law Degree/LPC or ILEX and be working as a paralegal or claims handler currently in a law firm.
The Partners are willing to consider paralegals from a different skillset/area of law.
Both positions are full time and involve working in a busy and progressive team responsible for their own workload, progressing the same using a case management system including :
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of remortgage cases from instruction and managing through to completion and registration on behalf of our lender clients
Taking responsibility of own case load and completing from start to finish.
To include, opening the case on case management system, preparing documents for issue, drafting cash statements, reviewing returned documents from customers, ordering redemption statements and organising completion of case
Liaising with customers and where appropriate, mortgage introducers to provide assistance and updates on case
Reviewing all incoming mail relating to transaction – to include all correspondence received from any pointed third party solicitors
Ensuring customers have an efficient, problem free journey through their remortgage transaction
Returning voicemails and emails within client SLA guidelines
Administration duties where appropriate – scanning, filing, receiving voicemails and distributing them
Clarifying and investigating, where appropriate any queries on title and confirming instructions on whether a case is non-standard and checking the case out accordingly
Ascertaining whether the transaction requires any additional works (transfer of equity, letter of postponement etc) and ensuring this is identified on the case management system and assigned to an appropriate case handlers
Ensuring the registration of a first ranking charge over the Property in favour of the lender in remortgage transactions
Where a complaint is made in relation to a case assisting with providing the Compliance Team with a full review of the case.
