Legal Counsel

Our client is a global organisation, seeking to recruit a legal professional to work across its in-house UK operations, based in Uxbridge. The function of the role is to deliver a professional service both externally and internally, providing commercial and contractual support. This role requires a person who is solutions focused and is able to approach the role proactively; an ability to communicate effectively and negotiate where required to ensure strict compliance.

This position sits within the in-house Legal Team and is imperative to maintaining good relationships with the wider Sales and Operational teams.

Responsibilities of the role will likely entail;

• Legal and commercial management and processes
• Legal and commercial review of contracts
• New bid due diligence including contractual and service level agreements
• Risk and opportunity analysis
• Contractual administration, including letters of intent; supplier agreements; confidentiality agreements/ contract extentions etc.
• Commercial and contractual education and awareness
• Negotiation with third parties
• Identifying value enhancement and implementation
• Customer facing and working in tandem with Sales and Operations

To be considered suitable for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following;

• A current practising certificate and previous experience working across commercial contract matters and agreements such as outsourcing and procurement
• Commercial awareness with an ability to think laterally and understand cost value drivers within a competitive environment
• Contract knowledge – an understanding of the formation of commercial contracts and the drafting and application of contracts to company standards
• Excellent communication
• Strong negotiation skills
• Sound IT skills

The position is ideally located close to Uxbridge Station with the alternative of onstreet parking if required.
