THE FIRM:
Our client is a highly respected national law firm with offices based in several major cities providing a wide range of legal services to corporate clients, organisations and individuals.
Our client has enjoyed significant growth in recent years including within their commercial property team in Bristol which comprises part of a much wider team across all of their offices.
Highly regarded in all regions, the team in Bristol is widely admired in the community, drawing high praise from peers and clients.
THE ROLE:
Our client is looking for a contentious construction lawyer to join their team in Bristol.
This is an opportunity to get involved in high quality, complex, adjudication and litigation (including Protocol) work, together with providing strategic advice and flexible dispute resolution solutions for clients, including through mediation, within a supportive and friendly team.
Our client wants to invest in your career, and help you to become a recognised expert in your own right, so you will have plenty of one-to-one development and encouragement from the wider team. Our client will ensure that you get a good level of client contact and responsibility.
Our client also expects you to be involved in business development and you will be encouraged to participate in networking and marketing activities. Our client is highly sector and client focused, so understanding and knowing their clients will be part and parcel of your role.
THE CANDIDATE:
Our client is looking for a candidate with at least 3 pqe in construction litigation.
You will have talent, ambition and a real interest in construction work.
Our client expects you to have built up enough experience to be able to manage your workload with 'light touch' supervision, probably gained over 4 years post qualification experience, ideally in a specialist construction team, but if you have several years more experience you might join our client as a Senior Associate.
You will want to work hard, but our client does not expect you to work late every night. Deadlines will need to be met and occasional late nights will be involved, but our client does not believe that long hours are healthy or produce great client service. This is an environment with a sensible balance between challenging work and a life beyond it.
You will be enthusiastic about joining a leading team and confident that you can contribute to its success going forwards.
