About

McKenzie Douglas are recruiting for an expanding IT company, part of a large parent company. They are looking for a Consultant Solicitor / Interim Solicitor / Locum Solicitor to join them as soon as possible for a 3 months (maternity cover) contract. You can work flexibly from your own home and will receive a great deal of autonomy. The hours are likely to be 16 – 20 hours a week and our client is flexible on how you wish to arrange this e.g. Monday – Wednesday (full days) / Monday – Friday (half days). This opportunity allows Consultants to carry out other projects / work. 

You will report to the General Counsel, work with other Legal Counsels across the globe and be responsible for supporting the business on commercial, legal and contractual advice, within the IT & software sphere. You can also expect to turn your hand to other areas of law with ad hoc advice on commercial disputes, compliance / regulatory and Intellectual Property.

Requirements

  • Experienced Lawyer
  • IT OR Software sector experience (highly advantageous)
  • Proficient in drafting / reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. Must be able to handle negotiations with clients and senior stakeholders, directly. 
  • Comfortable working autonomously
  • If you have any foreign language skills, then this would be useful but not essential
