My client is a well recognised law firm who are seeking a family paralegal to join their family department. It is essential you have previous family law experience and a solid understanding of the field. This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a full service, national firm and excel their career to the next level.

About the role

Working under the supervision of a Supervising Solicitor you will deliver a high standard of client care managing your own Domestic Violence caseload and attending to enquiries and clients in the family department.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will be working directly over the telephone with victims of domestic abuse and provide legal support from the first instruction to preparing the application for Court. The objective of the role is to assist clients as quickly as possible with proficient legal skills. You will interview clients and draft legal documents and process Legal Aid applications.

Qualifications and Skills

An ambitious Paralegal looking to progress their career. You will have a Law degree with a strong academic background and possess the following competencies:

• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Self-motivated, clear thinking and able to carry out case work accurately
• A proactive approach with an ability to work independently
• Practical, calm & common-sense approach to problem solving
• Excellent computer literacy skills

You will be comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment dealing with matters of a sensitive nature.

You will have previous experience within a Family Law team and experience processing Legal Aid applications.
