Your new role

As a Senior legal counsel you will offer support to the places and communities division. As a key lawyer within this team you will provide timely and commercial legal advice whilst assisting in negotiating and structuring the delivery of complex project arrangements. You will be responsible for legal support on a broad range of complex commercial project arrangements, particularly in placemaking, land development, district heating and cooling scheme projects to ensure legal risks are appropriately managed and understood. You will also be reviewing, negotiating and/or drafting agreements and conducting contract negotiations with project counter-parties whilst also assisting in the governance of transactions at local and group level and working closely with colleagues throughout the group. You will also be managing external legal resources on projects, providing timely, high quality, practical and commercially focused legal advice whilst balancing legal risk with the commercial needs of the business.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be UK qualified with 8+PQE (but candidates with other levels of experience will also be considered). You will have solid contracts experience preferably within an in-house team or a top ranked private practice firm.
