You should ideally be around 2-5 years PQE, having trained a top city law firm, qualifying into their finance department, preferably with a strong focus on trade finance. Experience and a solid understanding of letters of credit and bills of lading is also highly desirable. You will be supporting the Head of Legal with all legal aspects of the group's financings; including asset backed borrowing facilities, uncommitted bilateral facilities and general trade finance. This role offers a high degree of senior management and commercial exposure with close working relationships with the CFO and finance team, Strategy Director and the various lenders to the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the legal aspects of the Group' trade finance facilities (circa 60% of role)
- Ad-hoc advice and support on corporate matters NDA's, shareholder queries, queries from company secretarial department (e. in relation to intragroup lending and dividend arrangements and advising on shareholders' agreement) and providing transactional support (circa 20% of role).
- General trading and shipping (high level), compliance (e. trade sanctions), contentious and other general legal queries from the business (circa 20% of role).
