My client is seeking a Legal & Operations Manage for an exciting newly created position within their Legal and Compliance function.

The LOM will help support the execution of the organizational vision of the Function to be a high-value, scalable support function to the larger Business group, which continues to grow and evolve. The LOM will serve as a trusted advisor to the EVP and will be primarily responsible supporting the EVP in all matters related to the effective and efficient management of the Function's resources, systems, and initiatives in order to optimize and reduce legal spend and to drive Function efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities


Financial
− Develop, implement, manage, and drive the process and systems to track project budgets, legal spend, and accruals in order to optimize, reduce spend, and leverage past project data to better predict future project legal costs
− Helping to develop and manage the internal annual budget for the Function
− Close collaboration with outside firms and the Finance function.


Non-Financial
Manage outside counsel training process
− Help ensure that the Function is responsive to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner, which involves organizing and maintaining a schedule for the Function to meet all deadlines and working with other parts of the organization as needed to ensure the department is responsive to internal and external demands
− Support implementation and management of central legal request intake process
− Implement Function knowledge centre including, internal legal research and form library and contract execution & expiration log
− Prepare financial, administrative, and other required reports
− Support delivery of Function communications, both internally and across the wider Business group
− As necessary, facilitate cross-project, -office, and -function collaboration
− As necessary, assist in or coordinate special projects.
