Leading technology company seeks Commercial Solicitor / In-house Counsel to undertake a broad in-house role at its head office in Greater Manchester. You will work as part of an established team who are well regarded by the business, and you will have the opportunity to work on matters in the UK, Europe, AsiaPac and US.

Our client is an innovative technology company that provides specialist products and services to customers all across the globe. It's base is in the North-West - Greater Manchester to be exact- however it has operations in the US, AsiaPac and Europe.

The legal team is energetic, enthusiastic, pragmatic and genuinely collegiate. They provide a crucial role in supporting the company's dynamic development and expansion, and their advice and guidance is valued by the business.

Role:

Due to a recent departure, there is a requirement for a Commercial Solicitor (or IT/IP Solicitor) to join the company's established in-house legal department.

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Commercial Solicitor / In-house Counsel will work with the business to support them with a range of legal services. This will include: providing legal advice on a wide range of legal and commercial issues; drafting and negotiating commercial contracts; updating the standard terms and conditions; supporting the companies international offices; working with the team on strategic projects; and supporting and supervising the junior team members.

In addition, you are likely to work on other areas of law, such as: data protection, IP, competition, anti-bribery etc.

Person:

To be considered for the Commercial Solicitor / In-house Counsel role, you should be a qualified solicitor with circa 2-4 years' PQE. Demonstrable experience of commercial contracts drafting, negotiation and reviews, and an ability to work with business colleagues to successfully conclude contracts is essential. In-house experience if preferred but is not essential.
