Are you looking to work in the heart of Munich in a fantastic law firm?

We are offering a superb opportunity for an IP (intellectual property) Paralegal to join our clients firm, dealing with a range of EU and German trade mark and design work.

Initially working within a team of 2, you and the senior attorney will work closely alongside each other. The level of work you will be producing will have to be of high quality, therefore we are looking for a candidate who has 2 years previous paralegal experience in IP.

In this role, you will take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an international environment, including:

  • Gathering evidence for litigious matters
  • Collating evidence and potentially drafting affidavits, statutory declarations and witness statements under the supervision of a fee earner
  • New filings
  • Dealing with reclassification issues for existing registered marks
  • Dealing with incoming office actions under the supervision of a technically responsible person, e.g specification queries and formalities (with the exception of complicated specification queries or other objections which may be dealt with by a fee earner.)
  • Dealing with and forwarding documents such as Powers of Attorney
  • Coordinating large filing programmes under the supervision of a fee earner
  • Dealing with extension of time requests
  • Extracting details from SAEGIS and other databases, as required
  • Conducting market research on old, new and prospective clients
  • Reviewing and collating recent trade mark case law and changes in trade mark law and practice
  • Assisting with ad-hoc Trade Mark projects, as required

Essential Qualities:

  • At least 2 years’ experience, preferably in Intellectual property
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office
  • Good workload management, prioritisation and time management skills
