My client is a local authority legal team in the East Midlands.
This legal services team is seeking to add an Adult Social Care Lawyer to their team on a locum basis. Full or part time applications are welcome from all applicants with the right skill set and enthusiasm for the post.
The cases you will handle will be contentious and complex, requiring a Solicitor who can show support, tact, persuasion and sensitivity in their work and manner.
Duties will include:
* Managing a caseload covering all adult social care and related court matters
* Providing legal and advisory work in respect of ASC matters
* Drafting, negotiation and advocacy in respect of ASC matters
Applicants should have at least 2 year's post qualification experience in adult law from either the public or private sector. Applicants must also hold a current valid practicing certificate. This position is office based, with the team working in a busy office environment. There will be a requirement to attend court and other meetings regionally, therefore applicants must have access to their own vehicle. All mileage and parking will be reimbursed by the clients.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FILEx with good understanding of local government law. The candidate will need demonstrable specialist knowledge of adult social care law, legislation and policy and be able to apply this with the context of local government. Knowledge of democratic decision making in local government and complaints policy and process would be advantageous.
Hourly rate is negotiable dependent upon experience but candidates can expect an offer of between £35 and £45 per hour, dependent upon experience (Inside IR35). 1 -2 days working from home each week can also be arranged, if required although as the nature of the role requires attendance at court candidates should be reasonable in their expectations for homeworking.
