We are now looking for an experienced HR Generalists to join the HR Team.

This role will be part of a team of four people in the HR Team based in the Head Office in Harrow-On-The-Hill, working closely with, and reporting to the HR Manager/Management Board.

The main activities of this role includes:-

  • Providing best practice advice and guidance on company policies, terms and conditions of employment and legislation.
  • Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
  • Informing employees of their rights and entitlements and keeping them up to date on any changes that are made
  • Handling HR matters reliably and in accordance with legal requirements
  • Embedding the culture and values that are key to the business and supporting local levels of management to ensure best performance in a motivated environment.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of employment law and case law practices.
  • Dealing with ER, performance management and ensuring line managers have effective appraisals process in place.
  • Investigating and dealing with all employee relation issues including disciplinary and grievances.Coaching and supporting Supervisors and Directors through any staffing issues with the view to find a resolution at an informal stage.Take notes, produce documentation and advise on fairness/process on disciplinary/grievance/investigatory panels.
  • Recruitment – assist and direct in the smooth management of all recruitment and volunteer activities working to ensure business needs are met. Working with team to resource key staff through different means of advertising, develop social media recruitment and improve links with key Universities and Colleges, including attending recruitment fairs.
  • Overall coordination of the appraisal process.
  • Performance management – assisting Directors and Supervisors at performance management meetings.
  • Manage the Recruitment process (cradle to the grave) i.e. advertising, offers, inductions, Equality Commission annual reporting, induction, exit interviews and processing leavers.
  • Report on key HR metrics.
  • Review and update policies and procedures.
  • Assist in TUPE.
  • To be a Super user for the HR on-line systems i.e. Indigo (Job train) and any new systems that are implemented and ensuring HR data is 100% correct.
  • Manage the Apprentices/Year Outs/Work Placements Programmes and report on social clause commitments.
  • Assist in management of the Performance Management Process (PMR) ensuring all reviews are carried out on time and provide coaching for managers in the process, highlighting over and under performers.
  • Assist in KPI reporting and responses to PQQ’s and Bids
  • Ensuring monthly report/reporting is submitted on time and 100% correct e.g. recruitment, agencies, promotions, PRM’s apprentices, social clauses, exit interviews, turnover
  • Build relationships with other departments
  • Assist in HR related ad-hoc projects i.e. Health and Well- being, Employee Engagement Survey.
  • Project work – to include creating best practice management guides for Supervisors and Directors on people related activities.Improving efficiencies and processes, policy development and review, other as and when required.
  • Assist in the day to day running of a busy HR function.

ESSENTIAL

  • CIPD qualified or have at least 2 years demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • HR or business related degree.
  • Demonstrable experience as a HR Generalist in a commercially, fast paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the drive and determination to build a long-term career with a successful, growing company.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage a large workload under pressure.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to influence with confidence at a senior level.
  • Experience of working with high volumes of recruitment and ER
  • Experience of recruitment in England and Wales preferable
  • Refined written skills – the ability to write professional emails with diplomacy and tact.
  • A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills
  • Professional manner, pro-active approach to work and a team player
  • Demonstrate the ability to work confidentially, remaining discreet at all times
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to work with databases
  • High attention to detail,proactive, able to coach and develop others through advice
  • Must have the skills and experience required to work on own initiative
  • A high level of computer literacy, including an excellent working knowledge of MS
  • Takes responsibility and able to respond quickly to issues raised
  • To ensure that key tasks are met

  • Some occasional travel to offices outside London
  • Flexible when required
