Kennedys is looking to recruit a Solicitor/Legal Executive/Litigation Assistant for our London Catastrophic Injury team.
The successful candidate will assist the nationally-ranked Head of Catastrophic Injury and senior solicitors as necessary with a mixed caseload of high-value EL/PL and motor claims for a range of well-known clients. The cases are generally valued at £250,000 and over. The role involves handling own cases below £1m initially and assisting senior team members on their catastrophic cases. The team has a strong record of talent management and includes a partner and senior associate who were promoted internally.
Team Information:
Our national team services personal injury claims from seven office locations across the UK. The London team is a major force in the local market and is ranked in the top tier for defendant personal injury by the legal directories. We act for well-known clients and on some very high profile cases, led by experienced Partners recognized as market leaders in this sector.
We avoid unnecessary lawyering and are focused on working in partnership with our clients to achieve practical and commercial solutions at a realistic cost.
We advise on defendant personal injury claims covering the entire range from ‘slip and trip’ to catastrophic personal injury, including spinal, brain and multiple injuries, psychiatric injury, amputations, fatal accidents and multiple orthopedic traumas.

Type of Cases:
- All aspects of motor and EL/PL claims up to and assisting on complex and high value personal injury.
- Both pre-litigation and litigated files. Promoting early resolution of claims without recourse to litigation.
Qualifications:
Essential:
•Strong Academics.
Desirable:
•UK Qualified Solicitor, Foreign Qualified or CILEX qualified with the relevant experience.
Experience:
Essential:
- 0-3 years’ experience in a defendant personal injury law firm.*
- Experience of multi-track EL/PL and/or motor claims including larger losses.
- Experience of progressing case plans under supervision.
- Meeting targets.
Desirable:
- Experience of assisting on catastrophic claims.
- Ogden 7 calculations.
- Instructing counsel and experts.
- SLA compliance and MI capture.
