Our client is a major international business, with diverse interests across the UK (and the globe) and a high calibre legal team, which is well integrated and regarded by the wider business partners. Their employees number in the tens of thousands, and turnover in the billions.

Continued expansion of the legal team, driven by strategic acquisition, and corporate reorganisation, has created a new opportunity within the business. A key division of the group now requires additional experienced legal counsel to support commercial decision making. Joining an 5 strong team based at high quality offices in Leeds you'll support this particular business division providing facilities management and energy services to private and public sector clients across the UK.

As a trusted legal advisor, you'll be negotiating and drafting a variety of complex and high value commercial and contractual matters such as tenders, variations and ongoing contractual matters and dealing with risk management and compliance. You'll have the main responsibility for legal support on a broad range of complex commercial PFI/project arrangements both new bids, projects and ongoing matters such as variations, providing commercial legal advice, transactions, and you'll be working closely with colleagues and with customers and funders. Its a role where you'll need to be a technically strong lawyer with added commercial 'nous', and experience of large scale projects and PFI deals .

We are looking for an individual with strong knowledge of law relating to PFI, but who has the interest in taking on a role that might encorprate elements of corporate, FM outsourcing, construction, contracts, intellectual property, employment, data protection and bribery and corruption. As you can see it's a diverse role offering great opportunities for a lawyer looking to drive their career forward.

Given that you'll be given exposure to senior management personnel and immediate responsibility, you'll be a confident communicator, able to work at all levels of the business. You'll probably have at least 4 years pqe to have gained the necessary skills, but your approach and attitude are also important, so treat the pqe as a rough guide only. You'll need to possess exceptional drafting and negotiating skills, and be comfortable manage a sizeable workload in a fast paced environment.
