Crime Duty Solicitor and/or Higher Court Advocate sought within specialist criminal practice in Derbyshire.
The Role
We are now actively seeking a dynamic Crime Duty Solicitor/HCA for a specialist team located in Derby. Managing a busy and challenging caseload covering the full remit of criminal matters, the successful Crime Duty Solicitor/HCA will attend clients detained at police stations and Magistrates Courts throughout the area, advising them from initial arrest, through case preparation to trial. Due to the nature of this position, the ability to attend clients out of hours will be essential with Higher Rights of Audience and experience in Crown Court proceeding, highly desirable. Offered on a flexible full or part time basis, this is a demanding role, with high levels of autonomy suited to a confident Criminal Solicitor with Duty accreditation.
The Candidate
You shall be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE gained within Criminal Defence;
Crime Duty accreditation and/or Higher Rights of Audience will be essential;
Possess outstanding communication and client care skills;
Be highly organised, working well under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
Demonstrate strong advocacy skills;
Have a pro-active, professional and detail orientated approach to your work;
Be able to manage a demanding caseload, with minimal supervision.
