Senior litigation Solicitor
The Role:
- Manage a designated portfolio of claims comprising employer liability, public liability, motor and property damage claims
- Assist in the supervision and professional development of junior colleagues, paralegals and support staff
- Mentor, develop and empower a strong, functional team
- Develop and implement effective and efficient work processes
- Assist in oversight of the day to day litigation management process
- Keep abreast of legislative changes and relevant case law including developments in other jurisdictions
- Provide advices to the general claims and general risk teams, as warranted and required
- Provide assistance and support to head of litigation, as required
- Provide advices on ancillary legal matters when requested
- Dedication to continuous learning and personal professional development
The person:
- Minimum of 8 years’ post qualification experience in personal injuries litigation.
- Management training and/or experience an advantage
- Ability to mentor and develop the skills of colleagues
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills
- Capacity to self-manage and self-direct
- Willingness to share knowledge, experience and expertise
- Adaptability and flexibility towards the introduction and promotion of new approaches to improve processes
- Desire to improve and streamline processes where possible
- Ability to make difficult decisions, to take initiative and to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team and also work independently
- Qualification as a solicitor in this jurisdiction
