Locum Commercial Property Solicitor

An excellent opportunity for a Locum Commercial Property Solicitor has arisen within a Local Authority in the East Midlands, commutable from Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire. The contract is ideally to start ASAP for a minimum period of 3 months and there is a strong chance that it could be extended. Both full and part time candidates will be considered.

This position requires an established Lawyer to provide high quality legal advice on property matters to client departments across the Council and to draft appropriate contract documentation.

Day-to-day duties may include:

• Providing property legal advice and assistance to client departments on a wide range of property issues, including acquisitions, disposals, development agreements and leases.
• Drafting appropriate conveyancing documents for a wide range of property transactions e.g. leases, transfers and licences and to negotiate terms in order to protect the Council's interests
• Investigating and advising on the implications of changing legislation, case law, codes of practice and policy and ensure that the decisions made by the client departments are within the legal boundaries and achieve their aims and objectives and accord with Council policy
