The Role
You will be dealing with a mix of privately and publicly-funded work relating to matrimonial matters and children proceedings. This may include divorce and related financial disputes, and children matters including local authority care proceedings, contact orders, residence disputes and child protection work. The firm also offers in-house mediation services and experience in this would be welcome.
The Candidate
With a solid background in family law, you will be a legal executive or solicitor with at least 4 years’ experience in a similar role; the firm is open to negotiation concerning working hours and would consider a part-time role for the right candidate;
You will be familiar with Legal Aid matters as well as dealing with privately-funded work;
Membership of Resolution or a similar professional body would be advantageous, as would Panel membership;
Possessing excellent client-care skills, you will have an empathetic approach, able to explain complex matters in clear, accessibly language;
A robust advocate, and a determined negotiator, ideally with mediation experience, although this is not a prerequisite;
With good time management skills, able to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
