LOCATION: Canterbury
SALARY:£30,000 - £45,000
EMPLOYMENT: Permanent
HOURS: Full time
PQE: 2 PQE +

Our client is today a firm of depth and talent and as a leading city centre law firm possesses an enviable team of private and commercial lawyers. They provide services to a range of private individuals and national businesses. Due to growth our client is looking for a private client solicitor to join their Canterbury office.

Our client takes on a supportive role within the local community, whilst also providing a professional legal service. The firm's clients vary from individuals to companies successful candidate will be joining a team of four and will be responsible for running an already established case load. A following isn't necessary but is preferred. This position is more suitable for a candidate who has experience working within a specialist Private Client team, who can manage their own case load, as well as supporting more junior members of the teamt.

Type of work you will touch upon is : -

Lasting Powers of Attorney - property and financial affairs and health and welfare
Probate & Estate Administration
Defending a Will
Challenging a Will
Intestacy
Collecting any money that is owed.
Settling any debts due (including outstanding taxes).
Dividing the estate amongst the respective beneficiaries.
Closing bank accounts.
Interpret a Will
Determine the size of an estate for Probate and Inheritance Tax purposes.
Prepare an application for the Grant of Representation.
Lodge the required forms with the relevant organisations to collect monies due to the estate and settle any outstanding debts.
Arrange the transfer or sale of any shares, and handle the sale of any property or land owned by the deceased.
Prepare interest and inheritance tax returns
Prepare estate accounts
Advise beneficiaries on post death tax planning to reduce capital gains and inheritance tax liabilities.
